The position The Sales Support Engineer position is open at HBK FiberSensing in Maia, Portugal, a HBK company specialized in the development and production of advanced monitoring systems based on optical Fiber Bragg Grating technology. HBK FiberSensing provides integrated solutions and world-leading expertise on Fiber Optic Sensing, with special focus on structural health monitoring. We are looking for a technology-driven sales professional who can develop technical / commercial relationships with our clients worldwide by collaborating closely with HBK local offices. You will be joining a highly motivated sales support team in a dynamic and exciting workspace. The role is based in our HBK FiberSensing office and allows freedom under responsibility to structure and plan your daily work. This role can be hybrid remote or onsite. Primary responsibilities As Sales Support Engineer, your main areas of responsibility will be : Provide technical support to sales teams and customers Ensure quick and clear communication on pre-sales and after-sales inquiries Provide technical integrated solutions to our colleagues and to our customers Build complete integrated solutions according to customer specifications (HW+SW) Support the preparation of complex technical sales proposals Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation Provide training and support to customers and internal teams Supervise complex customer projects (internal project management) Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies Travel activity around 10-20 days per year is expected Professional qualifications Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electronics Engineering or similar Good technical skills in system integration and basic programming Strong IT knowledge (MS Office tools, CAD, CRM, etc.) Some experience from a similar role is highly desired Knowledge on Instrumentation and Fiber Optic Sensing is a plus Fluent in English both written and spoken Personal skills Ability to work independently and in teams with colleagues from various business functions and locations Strong technical commercial mindset and customer focus Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving skills Positive attitude towards challenges and difficulties Willing and able to travel for customer visits occasionally
